EXTRA CHALLENGE

“If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.”

Albert Einstein

If you don’t fancy reading a fairytale, and writing’s not your thing today, then there are plenty of films based on fairy tales for you to enjoy.  Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarves or Cinderella are just some examples. If you feel like going all out, why not get dressed up and put on an enchanted feast of yummy snacks such as gingerbread houses and play some party games with people in your house like hunt the pea and castle building.  However you choose to celebrate Tell A Fairy Tale Day, it’s sure to be a magical occasion!

MONDAY 22ND FEBRUARY 2021

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend!  The weather was very wet on Saturday but yesterday was a beautiful spring day so I got lots of washing done and it was mostly dry too.

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM TEAMS MEETING @ 9.00am

Today is National Walking the Dog Day!  This combines two of the most happy-making things we have in this life: dogs and exercise. Humans love walking with their four-legged friends, and pooches love their strolls with their people. So grab your walking shoes, a leash, and some treats for the road, and take your favourite pooch for a stroll to celebrate!

FRIDAY 19TH FEBRUARY

Good morning everyone!

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM TEAMS MEETING @ 9.00am

Today is National Caregivers Day, which is recognised as the third Friday in February.   Around the world, health care professionals look after those who need long-term or hospice care. These caregivers look after the HWB of patients and their families when they are not able to as they are either not physically able or do not have the skills or means.

I’m sure you have all been kept safe by a caregiver in your house, so take time to show your appreciation for all caregivers by making them a card of thanks. This may seem like a simple gesture, but it will mean a lot.

An extra challenge today:

How many batteries do you rely on in your life?  From your car to your smoke detectors, batteries are everywhere.  Count the items in your home that use batteries. How often do you buy them? Do you have a battery charger? Don’t forget, our phones, watches, hearing aids, and many more items all use batteries. Medical devices rely on them to keep people alive, too. They monitor our children as they sleep, and they serve as backup systems for our security and safety.

  • Read about the types of batteries available on the market. Some last longer, are rechargeable, and are more environmentally friendly.
  • When were batteries first used?  Why?
  • Discover the best ways to recycle your batteries. Some batteries are easier to recycle than others.

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all managed to get out for a walk yesterday in the crisp winter sunshine, although you would have needed a good few layers of clothing on to stay warm!  The weather forecast last night said to expect snow in the south-west of Scotland on Saturday.

I also thought you should know that I am very pleased with the effort everyone is making to keep up with the remote learning tasks – well done P7!
