We have P.E on Wednesdays and Fridays. Please have appropriate clothing and footwear. As school policy, jewellery needs to be removed where possible or a letter of consent given to the teacher. Thanks in advance for your co-operation.
We’ve had a busy start to P6. We have been creating our own games to learn the months of the year in French.
Here is Ava’s amazing origami that she completed at home.
Jack completed a PowerPoint about the the River Nile at home.
This week is Maths Week Scotland (23-26th September 2025). We successfully completed our first daily challenge today – Broken Squares.
Our second challenge on Wednesday was to work out the minimum number of coconuts that 4 contestants would need for the 4 days left of ‘Stranded’ reality show. It caught us out but we gave it a really good go!
Wednesday – we also were learning about Money and the different materials/objects that have been used as currency in the past, all over the world. There were some very interesting things used…
We tried our third daily challenge on Thursday. This one was even harder than previous ones! 2 girls were running though 1 started after the other. Our challenge was to work out when the second girl started. A couple of people came close to the answer. 👏🏻
As part of our novel study “Kensuke’s Kingdom” we went out on Thursday morning to estimate the actual size and draw the boat from the story – Peggy Sue. Here are our efforts – some were extremely accurate! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Many thanks to all of our parents/careers who joined us on Thursday afternoon. We hope you enjoyed playing the games, completing the puzzles and challenge we tried. Hope you are not still trying to figure out the circles to square challenge! ( sorry for blurry pictures)
We have some very talented and creative pupils in our class!!
At the weekend Nuala came first in her dance competition beating 8 others to take the top spot! 🏆🥇
Ava baked Banana Bread (by herself) that was so good that her family helped her eat it all right away! 😋
Also as part of our homework tasks, Katie made a super diorama of a river (with some help from her mum) using natural materials. 🙌🏻
Odin has also been very busy helping his gran to paint this amazing river scene! 👏🏻

Continuing with our novel study “Kensuke’s Kingdom”, we used our visualisation skills to create these pictures of the island where Michael is stranded from the author’s descriptions on page 53.

Checking for a response and breathing before starting compressions. The video also taught us how to use a defibrillator and that it literally tells you what to do.
2.10.25
We created our own river themed Blackout Poems by deleting words from already published poems. It was very interesting to read what we created from someone else’s words. Here are just a few examples:
5.10.25
We had been learning about the Water Cycle as part of our Rivers topic. Amelia and Jacob M successfully built these 3D models.
7.10.25
Today we joined other East Ayrshire schools in starting our Wellbeing Champions training.

We started by learning what the role of a Wellbeing Champion is. Then we did some Cosmic Yoga as a break.
We were trying to prove that smiling ISN’T contagious but we failed quite happily! 😂
Our final tasks for this first session were to create t-shirts to show what our emotions would look like if they were on the outside and to write ‘care instructions’ for everyone to be kind.
6.10.25-10.10.25
This week is Dyslexia Awareness Week and we were “Raising the Volume”.
We completed many activities throughout the week such as Dyslexia acrostic poems and designing our own blue awareness ribbons. Here is some of our amazing work. 🙌🏻
