Seaside assembly

On Wednesday 22nd May, all P2 and P2/3 children will be presenting their learning from the topic “Why do we like to be beside the seaside?”.  Please could we ask that all children come to school dressed in beach clothing and summer accessories – shorts, t-shirts, sandals, hats, sun glasses, beach toys etc.  If the weather does not allow for this, please could your child bring these items with them to change into before our assembly.

This assembly is open to all parents and carers of children from these 3 classes which will be performed in our Barony hall at  2:15 pm and will finish around 2.45pm.  You may collect your child from their teacher as you exit the hall.

Many thanks.

Mrs Agnew, Mrs Keen and Mrs McLachlan.

P2 and P2/3 trip

We are very excited to be going on our seaside adventure, tying in this trip with the learning going on in class.  Please make sure that all permission slips and lunch requirements are sent into school by Friday 10th May as any school packed lunches need to be ordered in advance of the trip.

Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.  If we are blessed with sunshine, please apply adequate sunscreen in the morning and send more for your child to apply if their skin is sensitive to the sun.  If this is the case then a hat would also be a good idea.   Purple school jumpers or polo shirts must be worn as our numbers are large but children can wear hats, sunglasses,  sandals, trainers,  jeans, joggers, shorts, skirts etc which are not school uniform.

There will be no paddling in the sea, however children will hopefully be able to explore rock pools along the coast line and this may result in your child’s feet becoming damp.  Please pack an extra pair of socks for your child’s comfort on the return journey.

Many thanks.

Mrs Agnew.

PE

PE days are Monday and Friday.

For the next 3 Wednesdays children can come to school dressed in their house team colours.

Harmony project – How have our games and toys changed?

As a start to our new harmony project about toys we would like to ask your child/children to bring in their favourite toy on Monday – no expensive devices please.

The children will share information about their favourite toys and write about them.  Please prepare them to talk about where they got it or from whom and why it is their favourite.

Thank you.

Mrs Agnew, Mrs Keen and Mrs McLachlan.

Scottish Poems

Each class have been given a Scots poem to practise for our Burns Competition.  For details of your child’s poem, please look in the individual class blogs.  Thank you.
