Hello everyone!

What a busy week. In numeracy we have started to revise number concepts in place value and are partitioning numbers in the MILLIONS! We also went back to daily Number Talks and looking at different strategies when adding big numbers.

We have also made a start to our new Interdisciplinary topic, WWII. We learned why the war started, when it started and when it ended. We also learned about the countries involved and about the leaders of each country. We went on a Scavenger Hunt around the school to find questions about the beginning of the war, and worked in teams to find the correct answer.

Everyone worked together to find the correct answers! Hunter and AJ lost one outside in the wind, but used quick-thinking and wrote the answer in the box.

We have also started making House Captain speeches, and these speeches will be performed at next week’s assembly to decide on this years 2022/2023 House Captains and Vice Captains.

We have had a very busy week this week, and will be starting new spelling words and reading books next week! We will also be continuing our work on WWII, and rounding numbers to the nearest 100,000 and even 1,000,000!!!

Have a great weekend and stay tuned for more next week.
