Goldilocks broke baby bear’s chair. Can you build him a new one ? Have a look for items around your house that you could use including cardboard boxes, building blocks or even in you paper recycling box.

The three bears enjoy a healthy bowl of porridge for breakfast. Here are some examples of silly animal toast which you can make with toast, spread and any fruit you have at home. What animal can you make ?

Fruit Prints
Cut apples or pears in half, dip cut side in paint, and make prints.
Mystery Paint
Have the children paint using lemon juice. Let the painting dry overnight. It will be invisible. Place each child’s paper under several layers of newsprint. Lightly iron over the paper with an iron set on high (no steam) until the artwork appears. Ask children to guess why the pictures appeared.
Counting/sorting Fruit
Make a variety of fruit shapes, some small, middle sized and big, different colours, types etc. Leave the basket of fruit shapes out for the children to explore, count and sort on their own.
Fingerplay (Poem with actions)
Bananas are my favorite fruit (make fist as if holding banana)
I eat one every day (hold up one finger)
I always take one with me (act as if putting one in pocket)
When I go out to play (wave goodbye)
It gives me lots of energy (make muscle)
To jump around and run (move arms as if running)
Bananas are my favorite fruit (rub tummy)
To me they’re so much fun! (point to self and smile)

Sounds of spring sing along with me to the tune of twinkle, twinkle little star. To make it even more fun, make faces into a mirror when you sing the sounds 🐝

We explored mathematical language related to size in the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears including smallest, middle sized and biggest. Can you find things at home or in your garden and put them in order of size. Some examples are shoes, socks, pots, sticks and stones.

Do you remember this fairytale ? Can you join in with familiar parts of the story ? Using different voices for each character will help bring the story to life🐻🐻🐻

Today, on your daily walk, or outside in your garden, look for some sticks, small stones and leaves or anything you see and try to make your own mini garden and build a wee house too. Here’s one my friends made earlier. Maybe you can ask a grown up to take a photo you can share when we get back to nursery. Stay safe 😘

What can you see in the clouds in this photo ? I can see a crocodile ! Why don’t you have a look at the clouds as they roll by today and see what you can see. It could be a dinosaur or even a unicorn. Can you make up a story about the the things you see ?
