{"id":363,"date":"2021-03-23T13:30:57","date_gmt":"2021-03-23T13:30:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/literacytrialsite\/?p=363"},"modified":"2021-03-23T13:30:57","modified_gmt":"2021-03-23T13:30:57","slug":"submissions-for-the-first-ministers-reading-challenge-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/literacytrialsite\/2021\/03\/23\/submissions-for-the-first-ministers-reading-challenge-this-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Submissions for the First Minister&#8217;s Reading Challenge this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Scottish Book Trust have asked that we share the following information about submissions for the First Minister&#8217;s Reading Challenge this year. <span style=\"color: #3366ff\">(<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.readingchallenge.scot\/index.php\/\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff\">First Minister&#8217;s Reading Challenge<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #3366ff\">)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>We understand that this year has been especially disruptive for schools, and that they have had to continually adapt their way of working. We also know that their time is precious, so want to encourage submissions which are short and simple, and show how they\u2019ve kept children and young people engaged with reading despite the challenges \u2013 whether that\u2019s big or small activities.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>By entering, schools will be considered for a national award and could receive books for their setting. Every school that submits will also receive a free festival kit full of materials and the chance to take part in our online Celebration Festival with author events and activities from 14 June.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>If it is of interest, we are hosting a webinar on <span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><u><a style=\"color: #3366ff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/e\/entering-a-submission-to-first-ministers-reading-challenge-tickets-141404262957\">Submitting an entry to the Reading Challenge<\/a><\/u><\/span> on Thursday at 4.30pm which will include practical ideas and advice for schools who are planning their submission.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Schools don\u2019t need to have registered for the challenge so far to submit, and we want to emphasise that entries can be in whatever format suits best.
