Make simple bird feeders and begin the RSPB Family Wild Challenge.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Use the soft toy birds contained in the box to introduce the topic of birds to the pupils. Let pupils hear the bird songs and tell them which bird they belong to.\u00a0 Can you hide the birds behind your back and let the pupils guess which bird is singing?<\/p>\n

You could also try this Big Bird Quiz to introduce your pupils to birds and their songs.<\/p>\n

Use this as a prompt to talk about birds and what they eat.\u00a0 Talk about what birds they have seen in their school playground.<\/p>\n

You can then make these simple bird feeders which can be placed around the school grounds.<\/p>\n

This activity\u00a0encourages us to look after our environment<\/strong>\u00a0and the creatures we share it with.<\/p>\n

It also helps develop our\u00a0fine motor skills<\/strong>\u00a0(especially holding small objects in a pincer grip between finger and thumb) which are essential for drawing, painting and writing and other creative activities.<\/p>\n
