Touch 3, Then Me is a simple activity which can be used and adapted to match current learning.\u00a0 It can be used from Early Level on.<\/p>\n

How to Play<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Gather pupils and explain that we will be doing a very active game involving lots of running.<\/li>\n
  2. ‘How will we look after ourselves and others during the game?’\u00a0 Children’s responses will help you create a simple risk assessment (We might trip so we have to look where we are going. We don’t want to get lost so we don’t go around the side of the building where adults can’t see us. )\u00a0 <\/em>In doing so,\u00a0 you are covering <\/strong>HWB 0-3-16a and helping pupils to assess and manage risk.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Agree on a signal\u00a0 for pupils to gather – perhaps an adult pointing at the sky.<\/li>\n
  4. Set the challenge – ‘I want you to find, touch and report back on something living, something no longer living, something never living.’ (Sciences<\/strong>)<\/li>\n
  5. Pupils touch the objects and report back.\u00a0 The learning is in the discussion about the answers – ‘Is the wooden bench really something that has never been living?\u00a0 Where does plastic come from?’<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Develop vocabulary and descriptive skills – something rough, something smooth, something soft<\/em><\/p>\n

    Again, discussion and prompting to extend the thinking is essential. Develop and allow pupils to provide the challenge descriptions, ‘Find something ….’<\/p>\n
