Why?\u00a0 Go exploring outdoors and look for the colours of the season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Collect the colours<\/strong> and start by putting some double sided sticky tape on a piece of card.\u00a0 Peel off the top layer and on your daily walk add pieces of leaf, petal, seed\u2026. Challenge yourself to find as many different colours as you can.<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t have double sided tape you can make yourself a sticky tape bracelet (sticky side outward) and attach your finds as you go.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paint a picture<\/strong> to show what season of the year it is.\u00a0 Use what you have learned about the colours around us to make a painting that uses the colours you spotted.\u00a0 Take your paint and paper outdoors if you can and try and match your paint to the true colours \u2013 you may have to mix your colours together to get an exact match!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Make Music Outdoors<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Take musical instruments outdoors or make your own (there are suggestions for how you can do that on our Woo TCH Activities pages) to experiment with outdoors.<\/li>\n<li>Find some sturdy sticks and beat them against a tree trunk or other hard surface while you sing out a simple song you know well (perhaps Twinkle Twinkle or Happy Birthday).\u00a0 Choose another tune to tap out but don\u2019t tell anyone what you have chosen and don\u2019t sing it out loud!\u00a0 Can anyone else name your tune.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sing Songs Outdoors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Singing songs around a campfire or while you are out on a walk is\u00a0 fun and you quickly build up a collection of favourites.\u00a0 Here are just 2 to get you started.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Incey Wincey Spider<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Incey Wincey Spider<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Climbed the Water spout<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Down came the rain and washed the spider out<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>So Incey Wincey climbed the spout.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Can you repeat the song in a whisper, really loud, humming?<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Row, Row, Row Your Boat <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>If you see a crocodile don\u2019t forget to scream.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When you are outdoors you can add a terrible scream!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These activities were inspired by the book\u00a0The Woo in the Wild Woods\u00a0by Ayrshire author Greta Yorke.\u00a0 Listen\u00a0 to and watch Greta reading her book\u00a0You Tube &#8211; The Woo in the Wild Woods Seasonal Art What season is it in the story?\u00a0 What colours has the illustrator chosen to use?
