The Owl Who Was afraid of the Dark \u2013 RME Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rope Trail <\/strong><\/p>\n

You will need <\/strong>some rope or string, a blindfold and two or more people to do this activity.<\/p>\n

Plop was helped by lots of different characters in the story.\u00a0 This activity encourages us to think\u00a0 about how other people see and experience things and how we can use this knowledge to help other people.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>A rope trail can be set up almost anywhere.\u00a0 It\u2019s possible to make a rope\/string trail indoors or outdoors.\u00a0 \u00a0The emphasis is on co-operation and taking care of your partner.\u00a0 Think about how everyone is going to stay safe and enjoy the game.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Attach a rope or string to a strong upright\u00a0 post (perhaps a washing post outdoors or a table leg indoors) at the same height as a child\u2019s hand can comfortably reach.<\/li>\n
  2. Make a trail with the free end of your rope going up, over and through obstacles.<\/li>\n
  3. \u00a0One person becomes the leader, the other wears a blindfold and is guided along the rope trail by the leader.<\/li>\n
  4. The person who is\u00a0 guiding gives clear instructions to blindfolded person.\u00a0 The person wearing the blindfold should be able to hold on to the rope at all times.<\/li>\n
  5. When the activity has been completed,\u00a0 swap roles and complete the task in reverse.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Choose an area to litter pick within grounds or greenspace.\u00a0 Encourage pupils to see that they can make changes that have a positive impact and encourage them to share the news with peers, family, friends, community.<\/p>\n
