Don\u2019t be fooled into thinking this book and the linked activities are suitable only for younger learners.\u00a0 The book and it\u2019s message is enjoyed from P1 to P7.<\/p>\n

Make a Frame using Natural or Found materials<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sometimes we see things more clearly through a frame.\u00a0 Often what we have framed seems more valuable or important than it does without a frame.\u00a0 Make your own picture frame.<\/p>\n

If you can outdoors into a garden or park , find 4 sticks and place them on the ground in the shape of a rectangle.\u00a0 Use this as the frame for your own piece of natural art.\u00a0 Activity 4 on this Woodland Trust webpage will give you some inspiration.<\/p>\n

Woodland Trust – Activities<\/a><\/p>\n

If you cannot go outdoors, use some long narrow objects (pencils, scrap paper, Lego pieces or rulers ,for example) to make a frame on the floor.\u00a0 Gather up objects from around your home (check with an adult first) and use them to create your own piece of art.\u00a0 If you can, take a photograph.\u00a0\u00a0 Once you have had a chance to admire your picture or show it to someone else, return the objects used to where you found them.<\/p>\n

Frame a View and Create a Piece of Art<\/strong><\/p>\n

This activity, suggested by the Tate Modern Gallery in London, shows you how to make a simple picture frame from a piece of paper or scrap card (perhaps from an empty cereal box).\u00a0 The Tate Modern website has lots of other activities suitable for young people you might want to try.<\/p>\n
