Taught outdoor across range of environments and abilities from early years to elderly participants for 30 years.

Oversees safety management for East Ayrshire Council’s annual 10,000+ off site visits, since 2010.

First climbed Mont Blanc and qualified as Winter Mountain Leader age 20, has continued with wide range of technical instructing qualifications in mountaineering, climbing, rope access, skiing, sailing, powerboating, kayaking, canoeing and adventured in Europe, Asia and Africa.

Local government representative on Scottish Advisory Panel for Outdoor Education 23 yrs and served in Executive roles for over a decade.

Outdoor advisor to government and national steering/writing group member for Curriculum for Excellence, BS8848, Going Out There guidance, Adventure Activities Licensing, AAIAC Council, Forest Education Initiative, Grounds for Learning, Learning Away, OEAP membership board.
