Scottish Teachers Dirty Weekend 2020

The beginning of March saw another successful Scottish Teachers’ Dirty Weekend take place at the Field Studies Council Centre on the Isle of Cumbrae.

The event, now in its fifth year, aims to provide a low cost opportunity for Practitioners from all over Scotland and beyond (we again payed host to a group from Belgium) to come together and share their passion for Outdoor Learning.

Supported by a number of national organisations including NNOL and Hostelling Scotland over one hundred participants attended workshops as diverse as Numeracy in the Outdoors to Snorkelling and STEM by Nature to Cooking in the Outdoors.

In addition to that there was a very thought provoking presentation from “The Real David Cameron”. Throughout the Friday night and Saturday there were also many opportunities for the participants to get together, share their experiences and make new contacts, as well as partaking in a spontaneous Ceilidh.
