Outdoor learning is an integral part of the Curriculum for Excellence, yet the thought of using the outdoors as your classroom can often cause a great deal of uncertainty or nerves. This session will focus upon developing your confidence and skillset to integrate outdoor learning throughout the curriculum, so that you and your class can enjoy exploring local greenspaces together. Environmental educators from the RSPB will share their experience and resources, stressing the significance of outdoor learning and together we will explore innovative ways to incorporate the outdoors throughout all curriculum areas. Activities will include topics such as active learning, risk management, STEM learning, creativity and co-design as a means to create outdoor learning opportunities.
