The Learning Outdoors Support Team (LOST) previously offered a wide range of development support through Webinars and Training spread across the year to support personal interests and teaching practices. The diversity ranged from twilight programmes designed to offer individual training, to Lowland Expedition Leader course for teachers wanting to get involved with Duke of Edinburgh groups on school.  There were twilight sessions, full days and a weekend course which provides an opportunity for teachers and practitioners to get together, share activities, be enthused by others and pick up lots of new ideas.  In addition to the courses on offer from our staff team, we had a number of national bodies such as The John Muir Award, RSPB, Archaeology Scotland and TCV also offer training sessions.

Each year we host the Scottish Teachers Dirty Weekend – an opportunity for teachers and practitioners from across Scotland to attend workshops and seminars.  The last event was March 2020 and as always was a great success.

An annual showcase event takes place each year for all education establishments to share their practice in outdoor learning. The O’Factor has become a well attended CPD opportunity attracting a number of national organisations and partners as well as over 30 education establishments hosting displays.
