What is the Parents’ Association?
The Lainshaw parent’s association are a group of parents who work with the school and ECC to provide fun activities for all of the pupils and raise some much-needed funds. We work hard fundraising over the year to enable us to fund items such as P7 leavers presents, burns medals, contribution to school buses for summer trips and the ever popular but expensive colour fun run. Other items can be requested by the school, and we try to fund as much as possible.
Individually we are parents whose children attend Lainshaw Primary and ECC and we want our children to have the best school experience possible. We work hard to provide fun activities that make lasting memories for our children and have fun ourselves at the same time.
How do we fund raise?
There are 2 very simple ways you can help us to raise funds with very minimal time/effort!

We use easy fundraising which enables us to raise a little extra money when online shopping at no extra cost to you! Who doesn’t love a bit of free money? Unlike other online cashback sites Amazon is included. It’s a great way to fundraise while you are Christmas shopping, booking holidays, buying insurance or upgrading your mobile.
You spend, brands donate to Lainshaw Primary Parents Association.

Other events we regularly run are:
– school discos (we aim to hold 2 per academic year), with tuck shop, face painting and temporary tattoos
– the Colour Fun Run
– stalls at Stewarton Yuletide or Bonnet Guild Gala Day
– refreshments and stalls at the school Christmas Fayre.
Any money we raise goes straight back to the children, whether that is funding items for the school or organising events.
The Committee – what does it involve?
We meet up once a month (Tuesdays) at Stewarton Community Hub to discuss and plan events, and we volunteer our time to run the events on the day. We also have a WhatsApp group to help us organise things out with meetings to ensure things run as smoothly as possible.
We welcome new members at any time. If you have an aptitude for event planning or have fundraising ideas and would like to come along then please do so, new members/helpers will be welcomed with open arms. Ideally we’d like representation across the ECC and all primary year groups. You do not have to come to every event/meeting.
We know that being on a committee is not for everyone, so there are plenty of one off volunteer opportunities to help us run our events (and we are enormously grateful to those who do volunteer to help).
How we share information
We have a Facebook group that is open to all in the school/ECC community, we will use this to share information on upcoming events, how much we’ve raised, volunteer requests and answer any questions Please do join to keep up to date with everything PA related!
