Update 25/3/22

Here are some pictures of P1 working very hard!

They are practicing drawing their number and times on their clocks, hunting for signs of spring, being detectives and finding ‘wh’ in a letter, matching rhyming pairs, adding number doubles from 1-10 and beyond and drawing symmetrical spring pictures.

Learners have been continuing to work on telling the time and have been focusing on identifying and showing o’clock and half past times. They have been using this knowledge to draw their own clocks outside and labelling different o’clock times (Pictures to follow.) They have also been developing their counting skills and have been looking at counting up in 2, 5 and 10. In HWB P1 have been discussing respect, what it looks like and sounds like as well as revisiting kindness and “filling each others buckets” with kindness. In Literacy they have been discussing Spring and have been developing writing about what our 5 senses can feel in spring time.

This week we have started looking at time and have been exploring stop watches and timing how long it takes us to do activities.

We have also been working on building our fine motor skills and patience with threading activities and building our own domino runs.

Cupcake Decorating

Today as a special treat for hard work and good listening we decorated our own  cupcakes. We have been recapping the importance of hand washing before eating and preparing food and how we wash our hands so this linked in well with this afternoons activity.

I hope you all have a lovely long weekend 🙂
