Observational Drawing with Wayne Thiebaud (S1 & 2)

In this lesson S1 & 2 pupils were tasked with using their digital and material handling skills to research the artist Wayne Thiebaud and complete a tonal drawing based on his paintings.

Thiebaud is an American Painter who became famous in for his paintings of everyday objects such as cakes, lipsticks and household objects. His work is uniquely American and has been compared with the work of Italian painter Georgio Morandi for it’s simplicity and modesty.

As you will see from this selection; our pupils really rose to the challenge of using their observational drawing and tonal skills to develop some lovely, unique drawings.
