France/ Belgium Trip Saturday 11th June 2016

The departure date is just over a week away. Could parents/carers and students please take note of the following:

All students should be at the front gate of the school for 08.00 ( that’s 8 in the morning) for a prompt departure.

  • Suitcases and holdalls will be put in the luggage compartment of the bus and will not be accessible until we reach our hotel outside Paris on Sunday evening.

  • All students should have a backpack or small holdall containing a change of clothes and toiletries to take with them onto the ferry. This is very important as space is limited in the cabins.

  • Food may be taken onto the bus, but over indulgence by some students in the past has led to illness. We will make at least two comfort breaks during the six hour journey south to Hull.

  • Thirty pounds (£30) will be sufficient for the UK parts of the journey. This is only a recommendation.

  • One hundred and fifty euros (150) is suggested for the European part of the trip. Again, this is only a recommendation. Monies will be provided to students for food and snacks during visits to Disney, Arras and Brugge. Packed lunches will also be provided during fieldtrips.
  • Students should be made aware that some mobile networks can charge extortionate tariffs for using phones abroad.

  • Suitable clothing should be packed, especially old trainers or shoes for the fieldtrips as it can get muddy if it rains. A light, waterproof jacket is also advised.

  • Sun cream/block should also be a priority. Staff will have a supply in the event of anyone  forgetting , but it will be factor 50.

  •   No passport required as the students are travelling on a group passport.

  • We are all looking forward to the trip and I would like to thank everyone, parents/carers and pupils,  on behalf of the staff going on the trip for your cooperation and support during the long preparation process.  Mr J. Reid
