Literacy

This term we will be continuing to learn our joined phonemes in class and as part of our homework.

We will use our word attack strategies to read stories about Biff, Chip and Kipper.

This term we will be concentrating on writing with more independence using capital letters and full stops.

Numeracy

In number we will be looking at fact families and counting on and back within 100. We will use number talks to enhance our mental maths strategies on a regular basis.

In maths we will be learning to use tally marks and be able to input results into various graphs and discuss answers with our peers.

Health & Wellbeing

This term we will be creating our class charter using UNESCO Rights of the child as a learning tool. We will thinking about friendship and   looking at what it is to be a good friend.

In PE we will be developing our skills in running, jumping and throwing through the topics of athletics and fitness.

Topic

For the first part of the term we will be learning about castles in Scotland. We will then move on to finding out about island life through the stories of Katie Morag.
