{"id":505,"date":"2021-12-17T13:02:54","date_gmt":"2021-12-17T13:02:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hwbclplcalendar\/?page_id=505"},"modified":"2022-07-14T20:57:59","modified_gmt":"2022-07-14T19:57:59","slug":"professional-learning","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hwbclplcalendar\/school-counselling\/professional-learning\/","title":{"rendered":"PROFESSIONAL LEARNING"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Due to Covid-19, face to face training through Public Health Scotland has been postponed.\u00a0 This affects the delivery of SafeTALK, ASIST and Scottish Mental Health First Aid (SMHFA) training.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, Psychological First Aid and Suicide Awareness Ask Tell Save a Life are available as online modules.\u00a0 For more information please contact<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/schoolcounselling\/mental-health-and-wellbeing\/training\/healthandsafety@east-ayrshire.gov.uk\">healthandsafety@east-ayrshire.gov.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The EAC HWB Team are offering a variety of mental health training along with e-learning opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/public\/schoolcounselling\/uploads\/sites\/18109\/2021\/02\/10100016\/Staff-Wellbeing-and-HWB-CLPL-2020-21-topic-based-2.pdf\">HWB CLPL blog \u2013\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hwbclplcalendar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"0\">EAC HWB Education CLPL Calendar (glowscotland.org.uk)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>NHS Ayrshire and Arran offer a wide variety of training courses which are free of charge and are open to anyone interested in learning more about how to promote good mental health and wellbeing in a range of settings<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/public\/schoolcounselling\/uploads\/sites\/18109\/2021\/02\/10104348\/EAST-Professional-development-sessions-2020-2021.docx\">EAST Professional development sessions <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The EAST team have a range of online CLPL opportunities including nurture, attachment theory, Massage in Schools Programme (MISP), growth mindset, change and loss and resilience.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cypmh.co.uk\/\">Children and Young People\u2019s Mental health and Wellbeing<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mentalhealth.org.uk\/\">The Mental Health Foundation\u00a0Scotland<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/digitalbrickslearning.com\/\">Digital Bricks Learning<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.childrenshealthscotland.org\/\">Children\u2019s Health Scotland<\/a>\u00a0have created a\u00a0Professional Learning Resource\u00a0for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/\">Scottish Government<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0Mental Health and Wellbeing. Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.place2be.org.uk\/our-services\/services-for-schools\/mental-health-champions-foundation-programme\/\">here<\/a>\u00a0for more information.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/professionallearning.education.gov.scot\/\">Health and Wellbeing CLPL from Education Scotland<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A range of CLPL opportunities for anyone working in education including supporting children and young people through grief and loss, finding ways to wellbeing through coaching and self empowerment and compassionate and connected classroom.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.place2be.org.uk\/our-services\/services-for-schools\/school-mental-health-consultations-place2think\/place2think-registration-and-webinar-booking\/\">Place2think \u2013 free small group supervision for teaching staff\u00a0<\/a><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Place2Think are small group supervision sessions for education professionals supporting positive mental health in school communities. Facilitated by Place2Be clinicians experienced in school and community settings.\u00a0\u00a0 These sessions are fully funded.<\/p>\n<p>What can we help with?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supporting anxiety<\/li>\n<li>Issues in the playground or classroom<\/li>\n<li>Building resilient relationships with children and young people<\/li>\n<li>Reflecting on our emotional responses to children and young people<\/li>\n<li>Practising self-care, managing stress<\/li>\n<li>Devising a whole-school approach to mental health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/transformingpsychologicaltrauma.scot\/media\/w3hpiif4\/nes-national-trauma-training-programme-training-resources.pdf\">National Trauma Training Programme Online Resources<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This document summarises the key trauma training resources from the National Trauma Training Programme that are openly available to support all members of the Scottish workforce.<\/p>\n<p id=\"_NQLcOoRfkKbWla\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.educators-barnardos.org.uk\/videos\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer\"><strong>Barnardos Education Community<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0have recognised that teacher workload can often limit the time we have to engage in the meaningful professional learning that we would like. To respond to this, they have created a series of \u201cbitesize\u201d videos which give you access to the information you need quickly.
