World Book Day<\/strong> was our main theme today.<\/p>\n

We had lots of fun guessing each other\u2019s favourite books by the props that were brought in.\u00a0 Miss Little also challenged everyone to design a book cover, for a real children’s novel, based on a limited number of clues about the story.\u00a0 Here are a few of the fabulous designs that were created.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0 Literacy and the John Muir Award<\/strong><\/p>\n

Earlier in the week, we were exploring different types of poetry.\u00a0 This week the focus was on kennings which are similar to riddles. Using life cycles as a stimulus, we had a go at writing our own.\u00a0 Can you guess which life cycle we were describing?<\/p>\n

We also worked in pairs to turn research notes about garden birds into PowerPoint slideshows.\u00a0 Each slideshow had to have animations and transition effects, as well as design layouts, pictures and text.\u00a0 It was good fun experimenting with all the tools available!\"\"<\/p>\n
