Thursday 13<\/span><\/b>th<\/span><\/b>\u00a0January 2022<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Welcome back Primary 7J!<\/p>\n

This week we have been settling back in to school life and reminding ourselves of the daily routines we follow.\u00a0 Lots of names have been going up on the Recognition Board for demonstrating good manners and our class currency has been flowing, with pupils earning tokens for great effort.<\/p>\n

A big focus has been on the ‘If you were an engineer, what would you do?’ competition.\u00a0 Pupils have already shared some creative ideas and next week they will be asked to draw and annotate their final designs.<\/p>\n

Negative numbers have been introduced during maths time; we now all know how the number line extends to include numbers less than zero. We have found negative numbers being used in everyday life when dealing with money and bank balances, reading thermometers and when measuring above\/below sea level. Next week we will further develop our understanding of how to add and subtract when negative numbers are involved.<\/p>\n

This week we\u00a0met Sir Stephen Hillier over teams, we got to talk to\u00a0and interview him, we asked questions about his life and how he started his career.\u00a0It was\u00a0really exciting\u00a0to\u00a0meet\u00a0a former R.A.F\u00a0chief.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

We also did\u00a0an\u00a0engineering task\u00a0where\u00a0we\u00a0thought about daily life problems and how we could fix them.\u00a0We got\u00a0to look at other\u00a0peoples\u2019\u00a0solutions to problems they have\u00a0fixed.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

For our topic\u00a0on World War\u00a02, we did a lesson on \u2018The Blitz\u2019.\u00a0This\u00a0included\u00a0some\u00a0art based\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0London\u00a0Blitz, air raid\u00a0shelters,\u00a0as\u00a0well\u00a0as\u00a0A.R.P wardens.<\/em>\u00a0<\/span> \"\"<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
