{"id":9464,"date":"2021-12-03T12:54:14","date_gmt":"2021-12-03T12:54:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hurlfordpsecc\/?p=9464"},"modified":"2021-12-03T12:55:54","modified_gmt":"2021-12-03T12:55:54","slug":"week-beginning-29-11-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hurlfordpsecc\/2021\/12\/03\/week-beginning-29-11-21\/","title":{"rendered":"P6 Week beginning: 29.11.21"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!<\/p>\n<p>This week we have been finding out about the meaning of Advent.\u00a0 We looked at Advent wreaths and crowns and learned that the five candles represent Hope, Peace, Love, Joy and the Birth of Jesus.\u00a0 After that, we had fun making our own Advent calendars to hang up at home.<\/p>\n<p>For literacy, we have been writing recounts. This week our task was to write about the day in the life of a Victorian kitchen maid.\u00a0 Some of us even wrote in Victorian style handwriting.<\/p>\n<p>In maths we have been finishing our unit on multiplying and dividing and will be moving on to Fractions and Decimals.\u00a0 Our tables facts are going to come in very useful!\u00a0 We have also been learning all about the properties of 2D shapes with Miss Baillie and Mrs Canning.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday we had our second-last skiing and tubing session.\u00a0 It was great fun learning how to change direction using the snowplough technique. In the afternoon we learned a new song and all the actions during our Disney Aladdin rehearsal.\u00a0 We are definitely one jump ahead&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
