Hello again,<\/p>\n
It’s been another busy\u00a0 and quick week.\u00a0 Well done to our Star of the Day, Star Worker and Over and Above recipients.\u00a0 Keep up the good work!<\/p>\n
On Monday we celebrated St. Andrew’s Day. We watched a short animation to find out who St. Andrew was and why he became Scotland’s patron saint.\u00a0 Then we wrote the story of his life as an acrostic poem and shared our learning with our peers. We also used search facilities to find information on Scottish inventors and inventions during the Victorian era and completed a research map.<\/p>\n
In maths we moved on to finding the area and perimeter of composite shapes.\u00a0 Some of us found it quite tricky but we persevered. Our taught writing task was to create a character’s diary extract.\u00a0 We could choose to be Queen Victoria or Prince Albert.\u00a0 We enjoyed reading our work aloud to the class and putting on posh royal accents.<\/p>\n
As it is now December, we have started our Christmas activities. We listened to the Christmas story and summarised the key events. Our challenge next week is to make a PowerPoint presentation to tell the story in our own words.<\/p>\n
