{"id":6029,"date":"2020-09-03T19:03:17","date_gmt":"2020-09-03T19:03:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hurlfordpsecc\/?p=6029"},"modified":"2021-01-08T16:30:31","modified_gmt":"2021-01-08T16:30:31","slug":"p6w-week-beginning-31st-august","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hurlfordpsecc\/2020\/09\/03\/p6w-week-beginning-31st-august\/","title":{"rendered":"P6W: Week beginning 31st August"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello P6W,<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the end of another busy week and I&#8217;m sure we&#8217;re all looking forward to the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>This week we have been focusing on strategies to help us learn and doing lots of activities on developing a Growth Mindset.\u00a0 I was very impressed with how we have been encouraging each other to persevere when tasks have been more challenging &#8211; well done!\u00a0 We have also been learning how to use partitioning when multiplying and a few of our pupils enjoyed sharing their methods with the class.\u00a0 In Literacy, we finished our class novel &#8216;George&#8217;s Marvellous Medicine&#8217; and we wrote a book review.<\/p>\n<p>HOME CHALLENGE:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are still focusing on <strong>multiplication tables<\/strong> so please keep practising the ones you&#8217;re not sure of.\u00a0 The trickiest tables are the 6x 7x and 8x.<\/li>\n<li>For taught writing we will be<strong> planning and writing a story from a pet&#8217;s point of view<\/strong> &#8211; have a think about what a day in the life of your pet would be like.\u00a0 What would they be thinking? What would they say if they could speak? What do they enjoy? What don&#8217;t they like doing?
