{"id":2887,"date":"2019-11-01T13:53:10","date_gmt":"2019-11-01T13:53:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hurlfordpsecc\/?p=2887"},"modified":"2019-11-01T13:53:10","modified_gmt":"2019-11-01T13:53:10","slug":"p7f-baking-for-macmillan-coffee-morning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hurlfordpsecc\/2019\/11\/01\/p7f-baking-for-macmillan-coffee-morning\/","title":{"rendered":"P7F Baking for MacMillan Coffee Morning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week we baked with Kieran&#8217;s mum (Cheryl).\u00a0 We were\u00a0 split into groups of 5.\u00a0 6 people and Mrs Ferguson went to the Co-op\u00a0in Hurlford\u00a0to buy\u00a0the ingredients to bake with.\u00a0The Manager gave us marshmallows, smarties and chocolate for free.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With Cheryl\u00a0we made cup cakes.\u00a0 It was tricky measuring out all the ingredients and softening the butter by hand.\u00a0 When had fun working out how to half and quarter the ingredients.\u00a0 We used\u00a0scales and had to work out how to read them carefully.\u00a0For the truffles we crushed up biscuits by hand and some of us liked using it as a &#8216;stress buster&#8217;.\u00a0 We melted chocolate, spooned out condensed milk\u00a0and added coco powder and coconut.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We had a brilliant time with her teaching us and we can&#8217;t wait for her to come back.\u00a0 We wish for her to come in every week &#8211;
