We continue to take forward our Big Maths to improve mental agility.\u00a0\u00a0This session, we were delighted that our application to the <strong>Scottish Government\u2019s Innovation fund<\/strong> has been successful. The school has been awarded <strong>\u00a36600<\/strong> to take forward a range of initiatives to improve attainment in writing. We hope this will also provide opportunities for Parents\/Carers to support the writing process both in school and at home.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-257\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hurlfordpsecc\/files\/2016\/11\/reading-300x242.jpg\" alt=\"reading\" width=\"115\" height=\"93\" \/>The Loudoun Librarian is going to be doing\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>storytelling sessions<\/strong>, with our P1- P3 classes over the next two terms. She will also be supporting P4-P7 with the <strong>First Minister\u2019s reading challenge.<\/strong>\u00a0 Please continue to encourage your child to read at home<strong>.<\/strong> We will also have our Book Fair next term.<\/p>\n<p>We continue to work towards gaining <strong>\u2018Dyslexia Friendly School\u2019<\/strong> status, enhancing learning and teaching to support all pupils. We are continuing to\u00a0\u00a0 develop our use of <strong>Digital literacies<\/strong> within our school, including the use of GLOW. <strong>2 + 1 Languages<\/strong> &#8211; we continue to integrate French within our school from the ECC to P7. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-262\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hurlfordpsecc\/files\/2016\/11\/stem.jpg\" alt=\"stem\" width=\"262\" height=\"154\" \/><strong>STEM ( Science, Technologies, Engineering &amp; Mathematics)<\/strong> \u2013 P4 and P3 have been working with\u00a0\u00a0 Martyn Hendry ( EA Stem Co-ordinator) to take forward a range of projects . P3\/2 will work with him in the near future.
