Once a migration notice is received<\/u><\/strong>–<\/strong><\/p>\n

When asked to claim Universal Credit, you need to do so.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Starting from November 2023, East Ayrshire residents who currently claim Tax Credits only (Child Tax Credit\/ Working Tax Credit) will start to receive a notification from Department for Work and Pensions \u2018inviting\u2019 them to claim Universal Credit.<\/p>\n

This migration process will then move on to other working age claimants on older income based benefits, called legacy benefits.<\/p>\n

You will have 3 months from the date the letter is issued, known as the deadline date, to make an application for Universal Credit.<\/p>\n

If you need<\/strong> advice or support, please do not wait<\/strong> until the deadline has passed, or leave it until that date to ask for assistance in making a claim for Universal Credit.<\/p>\n

You could lose financial support if you do not act when asked to make the claim.<\/p>\n
