We have also started a unit of work on time and have revised how to tell the time on analogue, digital and 24 hour clocks.<\/p>\n<p>Our reading and writing has focused on researching for information and making notes in order to write a non-chronological report.\u00a0 Each pupil worked with a learning partner to find out about pandas and then used their findings to present a report either as a PowerPoint, leaflet of word document.\u00a0 Everyone made sure to find information from more than one source.<\/p>\n<p>S.T.E.M took the form of the Mission to the Moon Rocket Competition.\u00a0 The class were challenged to build a rocket using K-Nex and junk modelling materials.\u00a0 There were some rules though: it had to be able to stand on its own, have a window and nose cone, have fins, be at least 20cm tall and display the &#8216;Clean Green East Ayrshire&#8217; logo.\u00a0 Everyone made a great effort but only some of the rockets made it through the strict success criteria to reach the voting stage.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-11863\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hurlfordpsecc\/files\/2023\/04\/525480D9-A127-454F-AC10-80DD7A9ABAF8-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-11865\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hurlfordpsecc\/files\/2023\/04\/71BBFFBC-F4A1-4570-8E16-3161EE25EFD1-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-11864\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hurlfordpsecc\/files\/2023\/04\/F3574081-E52D-4365-8584-0A47AE21E8E0-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Well done to Riley, Aiden and Logan who came in 3rd place.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-11867\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hurlfordpsecc\/files\/2023\/04\/94D8CA1F-7AF7-4D4E-A149-4E430528363D-225x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Well done to Millie, Loren and Nevaeh in 2nd place.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-11866\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hurlfordpsecc\/files\/2023\/04\/6F79C1E3-5E8F-4983-B12E-541948B1BC88-225x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to Kammy whose rocket was the winning design.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-11868\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/hurlfordpsecc\/files\/2023\/04\/D144A339-3959-4AFA-B25C-2817DE43A9B7-225x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary 7 Personal Research Projects<\/strong>: the success criteria and instructions have been given out for this homework task, pupils have had a chance to look at examples and ask questions, it is now up to them to decide what they would like to research for their project.\u00a0 Final projects are not due in until the 24th May, so there is plenty of time to get stuck in and complete the task.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sports Championships:\u00a0<\/strong>Over the next 4 weeks we will be training for and carrying out the P6-7 Sports Championships.
