It has been lots of fun and has helped develop our understanding of position and movement.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Listed below are the things we are focusing on this week.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: inherit\">\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Language<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: inherit\">Nemo<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 key words to focus on to support our reading and writing are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fly, bring, Mr, two<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Phoneme y like fly, try and cry<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: inherit\">Dory<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 key words for this week:<\/p>\n<p>our, down, off<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phoneme y like fly, try and cry<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Games that you can engage in to support learning the words and phonemes are outlined below:<\/p>\n<p>Spot the word in your books<\/p>\n<p>Count the phonemes you see in your reading book or in your favourite stories.<\/p>\n<p>Play eye spy<\/p>\n<p>Go on a scavenger hunt to find things that begin with the phoneme<\/p>\n<p>Write your words backwards<\/p>\n<p>You could always make your own pairs game for all your read and write words and continue to practise your reading book too.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maths<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are learning the early concepts to support multiplication and as such we need a good knowledge of counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. We have now completed lots of work relating to making arrays and repeated addition. We will continue to develop these and are now introducing the words times and symbol x. Below are lots of the strategies that we are using.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Multiplication<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Counting forwards and backwards in 2s<\/li>\n<li>Counting in 5s<\/li>\n<li>Counting in 10s<\/li>\n<li>Making Equal Groups<\/li>\n<li>Doubles numbers to a total of 10 mentally \u2013 partitions numbers equally and not equally \u2013 recognises it doesn\u2019t affect the total<\/li>\n<li>Make equal Groups \u2013 grouping items equally in smaller groups<\/li>\n<li>Make equal Groups \u2013 Sharing out items equally in smaller groups<\/li>\n<li>Introduction of Repeated addition of equal groups \u2013 show addition and multiplication formats together X meaning groups of<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Also look out for all our activities on Education City.
