We are please to be able to offer this learning opportunity for our families within Hurlford ECC. Our Community Practitioners Karen and Alison will be taking the lead in these workshops to work along with parents\/carers on developing their children’s learning at home.<\/p>\n

It will start on Tuesday 20th February at 2024 at 1pm-2:45pm, and run every Tuesday afternoon for 6 weeks, finishing on Tuesday 26th March.<\/p>\n

Families Connect builds on parents\u2019 existing skills and knowledge, providing them with the confidence to support their child\u2019s learning in the home.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

How Families Connect works<\/b><\/p>\n

Over 6\u00a0 weeks, parents discuss aspects of their children\u2019s learning during informal workshops. They are introduced to a series of adaptable activities, techniques and games that they can do with their children at home to support their children\u2019s learning in three key areas:<\/p>\n

  • Social and Emotional development<\/li>\n
  • Literacy and language development<\/li>\n
  • Numeracy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Save the Children has adapted Families Connect to be suitable for three-year-olds, informed by co-design with families and piloting in nurseries across the UK.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
