We celebrated our school becoming 25 years old on the 22nd March.
It was a day full of family, fun and friendship as we looked back on the last 25 years of the school and turned our thoughts to what would be in the coming years as we move in to the Barony Campus.
It was great to see family, friends and school partners join the children, young people and the staff team for a balloon parade and treats to eat and drink!
This year we went down to Cumnock Juniors to take part in Sports Day. Our PE buddies from Barshare Primary helped get us there safely and made sure the races ran smoothly. They helped build a lovely atmosphere.
Janet organised races for everyone and they have been practising in PE.
We had a great turn out from family and friends to cheer us on!!
Our Sports Day champions will get their shields at Prizegiving.
Thanks to the kind donation of juice and snacks from Mauchline Keystore.
Our whole school had a very successful trip to M&Ds kindly hosted by the Variety Club. Children all enjoyed the atmosphere, rides and treats that were available. Some children (and adults!) being brave and trying new rides…..some of them got soaked!
Our Senior class went out to a Boccia Tournament at the Citadel in Ayr and participated really well in the sport.
Their teacher was so impressed at how well they represented the school that they were all awarded ‘Stars of the Week’!
What a fantastic start to the year! It was lovely to see everyone back from the summer holidays. The children and young people settled in to their new classes and started to get to know each other and the teams supporting them.
We had a great morning clearing out the garden with lots of families here to help. Janet gave each class an area to clear and then the hard work began! Weeding, digging and a general tidy up meant we built up quite an appetite. Thanks to those who made us our tasty snack!
On Friday we had a celebration of all things Scottish.
Janet worked with all classes in PE to prepare dances with help from our Barshare Primary buddies.
We had a lovely snack and then enjoyed songs and poems together.
Before a traditional lunch of haggis, neeps and tatties Jim , who helps us with Scouts, did the address to the haggis.
In the afternoon Jack and David from Live Music came to entertain us.
What a fantastic way to end the week!
