Today we explored the last fraction in our topic, fifths. Have a look at some of the activities we worked on. We can find a fifth of a shape, a number and on a number line.

Past Tense
Today with Miss Bennett we were working on changing verbs into the past tense using three different rules.
1. If the root verb has a long vowel sound we add ‘ed’.
e.g. look – looked
2. If the root verb has a short vowel sound we double the last letter then add ‘ed’.
e.g. tap – tapped
3. If the root verb already ends in ‘e’ we just add ‘d’.
e.g. please – pleased
These rules are really tricky to remember in our writing, here are some activities we did to practise. Maybe you could try some at home?
The Rainforest
We have been loving our Rainforest topic this term. Last week we worked with Miss Bennett to create some headdresses that rainforest tribe members might wear.
Measurement
For the past few weeks in maths we have been working on Measurement with Miss Bennett. So far we have focused on length and area using both standard and non-standard units. Have a look at some of the activities we have been working on.
World Book Day
We had so much fun working on World Book Day activities with our friends in P2/3 and P3B. We made puppets, created bookmarks, had a reading den and lots more.
We also had a range of props which we used to create own interesting characters, our friends took pictures of us creating a pose.
Fractions
Today we started a new topic on Fractions. We were explored a quarter of a whole shape, a quarter of a quantity and a quarter on a number line. We found these activities quite challenging so we will need a lot of practise.
Measuring Length
We worked with Miss Bennett on a range of activities measuring length. We were using non-standard units and also standard units ( cm and m).
Connectives
On Monday we were practising using connectives in our writing through a range of active activities. Hopefully we see lots of these in our Rainforest writing this week.
