As we move rapidly into the busiest and most exciting month of the year for our children, I wanted to take this opportunity to provide you with some important dates and update you on our festive plans.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In her message via the School App on 12<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0November, Linda McAulay-Griffiths explained that Scottish\u00a0Government guidance for schools still does not permit large gatherings of pupils indoors which means that we continue to be unable to offer visits to pantomimes and concerts.\u00a0 All Ayrshire authorities have agreed that, given the continued prevalence of positive Covid-19 cases in schools, parents and carers will not be invited into schools and ECC\u2019s to attend events.\u00a0 Although we appreciate how disappointing this will be for you, please be reassured that we will continue to look at creative ways to offer these experiences to our children.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our children in the ECC, Primary 1 and Primary 2 are all working hard on their Nativities.\u00a0 The ECC will perform\u00a0\u201cThe\u00a0Big Little Nativity\u201d\u00a0and Primary 1 and Primary 2 will perform \u201cWhoops-a-daisy Angel\u201d.\u00a0 These performances will be recorded and shared with parents and carers.\u00a0 Further information regarding\u00a0how to access\u00a0the recordings will follow.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our Primary 6 and Primary 7 pupils are working hard to prepare for their performance of Elf.\u00a0 Further information will be shared by Base 4 staff.\u00a0 Elf will also be pre-recorded with showings on Wednesday 15<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0and Thursday 16<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0December at 7pm.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We have booked an online Christmas Pantomime for our children to enjoy \u2013 Aladdin\u00a0\u2013\u00a03 wishes, 2 vaccines & a genie!\u00a0\u00a0All of our children from the ECC through to Primary 7 will have the opportunity to enjoy the Panto with their class during December.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thursday 16<\/span><\/b>th<\/span><\/b>\u00a0December<\/span><\/b>\u00a0will be a Christmas Fun Day for all children at Gargieston.\u00a0 The children are welcome to come to\u00a0nursery and\u00a0school wearing a Christmas jumper or their Christmas party outfit for the day.\u00a0 Christmas lunch will also be served on this date.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We are expecting a socially distanced visit for our children in the ECC, Primary 1 and Primary 2 from a special guest on\u00a0<\/span>Friday 17<\/span><\/b>th<\/span><\/b>\u00a0December<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0 We will have a Grotto prepared for him in the ECC courtyard and the children will visit him outdoors.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

School closes for the Christmas holidays on\u00a0<\/span>Wednesday 22<\/span><\/b>nd<\/span><\/b>\u00a0December at 2.30pm<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and reopens for the new term on\u00a0<\/span>Thursday 6<\/span><\/b>th<\/span><\/b>\u00a0January.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thank you for your continued support this term.\u00a0\u00a0We are hopeful that 2022\u00a0will bring further relaxations in the guidance for schools to enable us to reinstate further school events.\u00a0 We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with you in the New Year.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
