\"\"Thank you to everyone who attended the parent workshop last night.\u00a0 Pauline’s presentation about\u00a0the loss of\u00a0her\u00a0beautiful 13 year old daughter was emotional as well as informative.\u00a0 I know we were all filled with admiration about the work\u00a0Pauline and her charity carries out in memory\u00a0of\u00a0Jenna\u00a0to promote positive feelings of self-worth in young people.<\/p>\n

In reflecting on the presentation, there were 3 key points that stood out for me, both as a Mum and as a Head Teacher:<\/p>\n

  1. Talk to your children and listen to them – spend time together, ask\u00a0them questions but most of all, put the screens off and really listen to what they are saying.<\/li>\n
  2. \u00a0Encourage a growth mindset –\u00a0don’t underestimate the power of the word ‘yet’!<\/li>\n
  3. Be kind – to each other and to ourselves.\u00a0 A smile, a kind word or a kind thought for someone can have such a positive impact on their day \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
