Sports Day

Hello everyone,

I hope you enjoyed Health Week and Sports Day last week! Thank you for sharing some of your videos and pictures – here are a few that were sent in (sorry if I have missed any).

Please remember to email me if there is anything you want to discuss or we can support you with. I am hoping I will be able to update you soon with further information about the school.

The Parent Council are meeting (virtually) on Thursday evening, so please remember to pass on any discussion points to one of the members.

Take care,

Mrs Davidson

Mrs Moore’s Update 20/05/2020

Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well. It’s been lovely meeting some of you while out for a walk around the village. This week I’ve been walking to Craufurdland for a change of scenery and it’s really beautiful to wander through the trees.

It was my son Ewan’s graduation from college on Saturday too which was a bit of a non event and not quite what we had planned. He didn’t want me to bake a cake and asked for some of my empire biscuits instead.

The garden peas are really coming along well and I’ve repotted them  into individual pots and they’ll stay in the greenhouse for another week or two before I plant them outside.

Take care everyone   Mrs Moore 😀

HT Update 18.05.20

Good morning everyone,

I hope you are well. This week is our Health Week and all activities on the class learning grids focus on Health and Wellbeing. Our Sports Day will take place on Friday and some of the learning tasks link with getting prepared for Friday!

The staff have videos themselves taking part in some activities that might help inspire your own activities at home.

Your HT Challenge this week is to post a video of your chosen sport/activity on Friday to your own blog, your class blog, our Twitter page and/or email to me. I look forward to seeing what you manage to achieve!

Stay safe and most importantly, do what you can and what works for you as a family. Your mental and physical health are what’s most important during these uncertain and difficult times.

Mrs Stark’s Update 13.05.20

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are all well and still keeping safe!

It has really cheered me up speaking to you all over the last few weeks and hearing about all the exciting things that you have been getting up to.

I have been keeping myself really busy at home too and have been painting lots!   I have decorated my son Logan & my daughter Leah’s bedrooms as well as painting my decking and fences in the garden.     I am like you spending lots of time outside going walks and sitting in my garden enjoying the sunshine.    I also like to sit outside with my fire on at night waiting for my new garden fairy lights to come on!

It was a really special birthday in Mrs Stark house at the weekend, her son turned 18!!!

We celebrated with an afternoon tea, then a lovely meal at night collected from one of our favourite restaurants in town “Café da Vinci”, followed by lots of cake!  J

Keep safe and I’ll see you all soon.

Love Mrs Stark x

Mrs Gallacher’s Update 13.05.2020

Hi to you all, We have had another great weeks weather so not so bad. I have been enjoying looking at all your blogs of your VE tea parties, baking, cycling, outdoor fun and school activities. You are learning some amazing new skills 😊

I’ve been keeping busy too. Decided to fully clear my garage, oh my………. it took so much longer than I thought. Now I have a large pile of rubbish for the dump. 🤔
Murron has been busy again with school work. For VE day she made cheese and sultana scones by herself. Tasted yummy 😋
She also used the power washer to clean up outside. The slabs needed a good clean but I think she enjoyed making shapes more. 🤣
Still trying to get my cats to high 5, nearly there. 🤞
Take care.

HT Challenge 11th-15th May – Fundraiser

“And I would walk 500 miles…”

Hello everyone,

The challenge this week is for all staff and pupils to contribute towards a shared goal of walking 500 miles! If every pupil managed to walk at least 3 and a half miles over the course of the week, then we will meet our target.

  • Make a plan with a parent to set your route and either walk at least 3 and a half miles in one day or over the course of the week.
  • Please take either a short video of yourself walking some of the distance (10 second video) or some photos and email them to Mrs Davidson.
  • Wear yellow and black or face paints – bumble bee theme!
  • Reply to the daily text message on your parent’s phone to say how many miles you managed that day only, so we can update everyone.
  • By Friday, we hope that we have collectively managed to walk at least 500 miles!
  • We will turn your videos and photos into a whole school video with the music ‘500 miles’ by The Proclaimers.
  • Donate an amount of your choice via Parent Pay and we will send all money raised to Hallhouse Care Home to support them during this difficult time.

Miss Jaffrey Update

Hi everyone, I hope you are all staying safe and learning new skills at home.
I have been very busy during the lockdown period from decorating my new house to trying out some new baking recipes.
During the first week of lockdown I was kept very busy learning new decorating skills and trying new patterns for my bedroom wall. Here is a before and after picture of my decorating:
When I’m not decorating inside the house I am learning new skills out in the garden. Just last week I fully restored my little bench in my garden. Here is the finished picture:
Moving into a house can be challenging and sometimes you need a little sweet treat to reward yourself. I decided I would try to make an apple pie from scratch and it tasted delicious. I wish I could of shared it with friends and family.

Mrs Gallacher’s Update

Hi everyone, Hope you and your families are all doing well. I feel as if I haven’t seen you all in ages! Missing all your wee faces and chats around the school.

I’ve been keeping busy and luckily our weather has been great too. I’m doing alot of gardening outdoors and had a few BBQ’s. My daughter Murron had a lock down 14th birthday but we had a fantastic day with lots of fun.
Most days when Mr Gallacher comes home from work we all go our daily walk/exercise. Luckily I live a few minutes from the beach so enjoy getting the nice fresh sea air.
Let me introduce my 2 pet cats. Carla (black) and Minnie (white). As you can see they like to sleep alot and I usually find them in the conservatory sunning themselves ☀️🐱
At the moment I am teaching them to sit and give me a high 5 for a wee treat. Hopefully will get a photograph soon to show you all.
Take care everyone, chat to you all again soon.
Mrs G 😁
