P7 Sports Captains

Introducing our newly appointed Sports Captains.
We look forward to lots of sporting events organised throughout the year.

P7 Leadership Training
P7 Leadership Training
Today we took part in a day of training to support us to become leaders across the school.
Blair came and share his knowledge of tennis coaching with us and we learned what makes a good leader, how to be a good leader and to reflect on the difficulties of being an effective leader.
We had lots of fun practising these skills in the classroom and in the gym hall.
Our next step is to put these skills to use and deliver some tennis lessons across the school.
P7 Visit from PC Rae
PC Rae Visit
Today we enjoyed a visit from our new Campus Cop, PC Rae.
She spoke to us about the importance of staying safe when using social media and accessing the internet.
We learned about the importance of staying safe when uploading photos, asking permission, age restrictions for social media sites and different online games and what to do if we need to report any inappropriate content.
P7 House Captain Elections
House Captain Elections
We worked really hard to write inspirational and motivating speeches to persuade our House Peers to vote for us as House Captains and Vice Captains.
This was a very nerve racking experience and we developed our confidence and resilience to complete this task. All the adults in the school were very impressed with how well written everyone’s speeches were and how confident they were talking in front of their peers.
Although we had some disappointment in the class, everyone dealt with this very well and were supportive of each other and celebrated each others success.
A great learning experience for all the Primary 7s.
Mr Houston then presented the House Captains and Vice Captains badges at the Award Assembly.

P7 Class Charter
Class Charter
We explored the UNCRC Articles and choose the ones most relevant to our classroom.
We discussed who the Rights Holders in our class are and how they would respect the rights of everyone in our class and added our expectations to each article. We also linked these articles to our school values of Respect, Honesty, Ambition and Kindness.
We worked in groups to explore the role of the Duty Bearers in our classroom. Mrs Ross added her statements to our class charter and we discussed what our class would feel like, look like and sound like. We then agreed on our class expectations and signed our charter.
Finally we created our own Among Us Characters to the charter to complete our display.
