Class Charter
We explored the UNCRC Articles and choose the ones most relevant to our classroom.
We discussed who the Rights Holders in our class are and how they would respect the rights of everyone in our class and added our expectations to each article. We also linked these articles to our school values of Respect, Honesty, Ambition and Kindness.
We worked in groups to explore the role of the Duty Bearers in our classroom. Mrs Ross added her statements to our class charter and we discussed what our class would feel like, look like and sound like. We then agreed on our class expectations and signed our charter.
Finally we created our own Among Us Characters to the charter to complete our display.
Fulton Fowlds Dunlop Howie
To prepare for our House Captain Speeches and to learn a little bit more about the names of our School Houses, we completed some research on the laptops.
We learned about John Fulton who invented the Orrery, and was a notable mathematician. Matthew Fowlds who was the last remaining hand loom weaver in the area and died after his 100th birthday. The Dunlop family who were a famous Covenanting Family in the area. John Howie, who was born near Fenwick in Lochgoin Farmhouse which provided refuge to the Covenanters.
We discovered that all of these important Fenwick people are buried in the village. So we decided to go and explore the village and find their memorial stones.
Today we got off to a great start and welcomed everyone back to Primary 7.
We are looking forward to lots of leadership opportunities this year and a busy year ahead of us all.
We enjoyed working with Mrs MacPherson today and she will take our class every Wednesday from 11.45am – 3pm. This term she will be teaching French and P.E in class.
Mrs Ross will be in class for the rest of the week.
