Primary 6 took part in Bike Ability 2. The children upleveled their cycling skills by cycling on the road, performing signals, cycling in a straight line, completing a U turn, and overtaking parked cars.

P6 – Health and Wellbeing
Primary 6 created their own healthy food advert using iMovie. Each group advertised their own creation of a healthy food item. Each advert included features of an advert: bargains, freebies, promoting a lifestyle, colourful packaging, popular characters, and slogans and logos which was used to influence consumer.
P6 – Health and Wellbeing
Primary 6 have been learning about how advertising is used to influence consumers. We first watched a range of adverts, advertising different foods, then we explored the different features of adverts, before creating our own advert based on healthy foods.
P6 – Health Week and Sports Day
Primary 6 have had an excellent week celebrating Health Week 2025.
On Monday we participated in some relaxation activities with Mr Mirfin as he delivered the Massage in Schools Program. We had a visit from PC Rae who spoke to the class about how to be safe and healthy, and we got to experience input from Kieran from North West Boxing Club.
On Tuesday we had input from Kilmarnock Cricket Club.
On Wednesday we developed out football skills through a session with Killie Community Trust.
On Thursday our P7 Sports Captains delivered an excellent PE lesson focusing on the skills of football and we also had input from the Sakai Karate Club.
On Friday we participated in Sports Day.

A great week engaging with a range of sports, developing different skills, and promoting the importance of mental and physical wellbeing.
P6 – Gymnastics
Miss Hutton from Loudoun Academy delivered a gymnastics lesson to the class. The children had the opportunity to develop their flexibility, coordination, and develop their movement and balancing skills.
P6 – Danger Detectives
Primary 6 were kindly invited to the Dean Park to participate in the Danger Detectives program ran by Vibrant Communities. The boys and girls were detectives for the morning and identified lots of different dangers. A big thank you to Police Scotland, the Fire and Rescue Service, Ayrshire Roads Alliance, and the country rangers. A great experience for our young people to be involved in.
P6 – Potted Sports
A huge well done to our P6 pupils who planned and delivered an outstanding Potted Sports for our ECC boys and girls. P6 shone by showing our school values: kindness, ambition, and respect, and were so encouraging of our young people. A great day was had by all!
P6 – Heart Start CPR Training
P6 had a visit from Heart Start Scotland, where they learned all about how to save a person’s life. The boys and girls learned how to put someone in the recovery position, safely deliver CPR, and access and use a defibrillator. Very important skills to learn.
P6 – Sport Relief
P6 have celebrated Sport Relief 2025 through sharing their love for different sports, researching a Scottish sports person and sharing their information on an online poster on Canva.
We also took part in the House Sports Challenge where we completed different activities based on athletics and won lots of Ambition house points, and enjoyed watching some of our classmates take part in the staff v pupil netball match.
P6 – ECC Multi-Sports
P6 planned and delivered an outdoor multi-sport session for their buddies in the ECC.
