A huge well done to our P6 pupils who planned and delivered an outstanding Potted Sports for our ECC boys and girls. P6 shone by showing our school values: kindness, ambition, and respect, and were so encouraging of our young people. A great day was had by all!
P6 had a visit from Heart Start Scotland, where they learned all about how to save a person’s life. The boys and girls learned how to put someone in the recovery position, safely deliver CPR, and access and use a defibrillator. Very important skills to learn.
To celebrate Easter, Primary 6 pupils participated in an Easter egg hunt in the garden. They also played Easter themed bingo and enjoyed an Easter party with other classes.
Primary 6 visited the ECC and enjoyed making Easter crafts with their buddy’s. The children also delivered lovely Easter baskets that they made in class, filled with Easter treats for their buddy’s to enjoy over the Easter break.
This term P6 have been learning about different natural disasters. Following on from our learning focusing on volcanoes and volcanic eruptions, the children constructed their own model volcano and then created a volcanic eruption through a science experiment.
A huge well done to our P6 pupils who took part in this years Euro Quiz. All children showed our school value: ambition whilst showcasing all of their knowledge of Europe.
P6 have celebrated Sport Relief 2025 through sharing their love for different sports, researching a Scottish sports person and sharing their information on an online poster on Canva.
We also took part in the House Sports Challenge where we completed different activities based on athletics and won lots of Ambition house points, and enjoyed watching some of our classmates take part in the staff v pupil netball match.
P6 have enjoyed all of their celebrations during Science Week 2025.
We were visited by Jill, Hannah, and Callum from GE Aerospace who spoke to us about the engineering of plane parts, Mr Pitman, one of the Dean Park Rangers who explored all about how to be a Dean Park Ranger, and the Strider WOW mascot.
Mrs Borland and the children from the ECC delivered a lovely lesson on how to recycle and two of our P6 girls delivered a lesson to the class based on climate change.
P6 have had a great day celebrating World Book Day. We started our morning with an online quiz with the National Literacy Trust, visited the Book Swap, and had some time to read. P6 then visited their buddies in the ECC to share their love for reading.
P6 visited the ECC to meet their buddies for the first time. All the children had a lovely afternoon in the ECC garden, forming positive relationships and having fun.
