A big well done to all the children in P6 for learning their Scot’s poem ahead of our Burns Competition. Here are our two finalists and winner.
P6 celebrated Burns alongside parents and carers by performing the Scot’s poem ‘The Ballad of Janitor MacKay’ and singing the song ‘Home’ by Nathan Evans at our Scottish Showcase.
P6 have continued to develop their Digital Literacy Skills through a visit from Mr Wilson from HP. During this session, the children were deepening their knowledge and understanding of TEAMS and its features.
As part of the Digital Literacy Curriculum, P6 have been exploring coding. We used the Code.org website to develop our coding skills and learned how to create our own code through interactive tasks.
P6 have been exploring money. Today we focused on budgeting. Working in pairs, the children were given a budget and planned their own birthday party. The children calculated the total cost of their shopping list and deducted the total from their budget to see if they were under or over budget.
P6 pupils have been exploring their Scottish Landscapes topic at home. These pupils created a spectacular model of Goat Fell and Ben Nevis, wonderful pictures of Scottish mountains, and wrote a paragraph about Scottish lochs.
As part of our mini topic of Scotland focusing on Scottish landscapes, P6 used the laptops to research Scottish mountains.
After researching the most famous mountains in Scotland, we used an atlas to locate each on a blank map. We even managed to locate some familiar places like Glasgow and Edinburgh.
