P5/6 World Book Day

Primary 5/6 had a fun filled morning of activities during World Book Day.

We wore fabulous costumes of our favourite charaters, went on a scavanger hunt, swapped books and tested our knowledge during the World Book Day quiz.

All the staff had disguised themselves reading a book and we had to gues who was who.

We moved to different classrooms to make bookmarks with Mrs Ross, design book spines with Miss Thomson,  take part in a quiz  with Miss Stevenson and make reading masks with Miss Galloway.

Thank you to Mrs Seeney for organising this day for us all.

P5 and p6 skiing

Great excitement this week as we progressed to the top of the slope and got to use the travelator. Mrs Hosie joined Mrs Ross this week and she was very impressed by everyone’s skills.

Meanwhile our “professionals” were impressing us all  with their skills on the big slope! They were performing 360 turns! Hopefully they sleep well tonight!

The afternoon was finished off with a little bit of tubing and Mrs Ross and Mrs Hosie joined in too. I’m sure all the parents  heard their screams back in Fenwick !

P5/6 The Water Horse by Dick King Smith

To round off our Scottish Myths and Legends topic,  and now that we have finished reading the novel, we will be watching The Water Horse on Friday 24th February.

We will be completeing work to analyse the differences between the novel and the film.

This film is rated PG, if you do not wish your child to watch the film then please contact the school office before Friday morning.

Many thanks

Mrs Ross

P5/6 Poetry Competition

Well done to everyone in Primary 5/6 who entered  the Scottish  Poetry Recital competition. Everyone performed with confidence to the class and it was so difficult to choose our 3 finalists.
Today the whole school enjoyed listening to the finalists from each class, I was so proud of our 3 class entrants who were so expressive and showed such self confidence. Norah was chosen as our overall class winner! 👏🏻  well done to Layla and Harriet who were runners up.
