As we prepare to work with our ECC Buddies, today we met Ariana and Sophie from Speech and Language Therapy in East Ayrshire who delivered some training.
We learned about the importance of being down face to face with our Buddy, Observing, Waiting and Listening – OWL and taking the lead from our Buddy.
On Friday, all of the primary 6 pupils had their first Play Leaders session with Lynsey Hogg from Active Schools. Lynsey discussed role models with them and what role models mean to them. She taught them a range of strategies to maximise participation when leading activities. We are excited to see them grow as Play Leaders within our school.
Great excitement this week as we progressed to the top of the slope and got to use the travelator. Mrs Hosie joined Mrs Ross this week and she was very impressed by everyone’s skills.
Meanwhile our “professionals” were impressing us all with their skills on the big slope! They were performing 360 turns! Hopefully they sleep well tonight!
The afternoon was finished off with a little bit of tubing and Mrs Ross and Mrs Hosie joined in too. I’m sure all the parents heard their screams back in Fenwick !
As part of their focus on shape, Primary 5/6 have started learning about angles. They started off by going on a right angle hunt around the classroom followed by a hunt for acute and obtuse angles. After this they discussed the unit of measure used when considering angles (degrees) and explored the use of a protractor to measure the size of angles.
