P5 and p6 skiing

Great excitement this week as we progressed to the top of the slope and got to use the travelator. Mrs Hosie joined Mrs Ross this week and she was very impressed by everyone’s skills.

Meanwhile our “professionals” were impressing us all  with their skills on the big slope! They were performing 360 turns! Hopefully they sleep well tonight!

The afternoon was finished off with a little bit of tubing and Mrs Ross and Mrs Hosie joined in too. I’m sure all the parents  heard their screams back in Fenwick !

P5/6 The Water Horse by Dick King Smith

We will be completeing work to analyse the differences between the novel and the film.

This film is rated PG, if you do not wish your child to watch the film then please contact the school office before Friday morning.

Many thanks

P5/6 Poetry Competition

Well done to everyone in Primary 5/6 who entered  the Scottish  Poetry Recital competition. Everyone performed with confidence to the class and it was so difficult to choose our 3 finalists.
Today the whole school enjoyed listening to the finalists from each class, I was so proud of our 3 class entrants who were so expressive and showed such self confidence. Norah was chosen as our overall class winner! 👏🏻  well done to Layla and Harriet who were runners up.

P5/6 Teacher Take Over

Today in P5/6 Mrs Ross put her  feet up and 2 pupils took over  the teaching  in class.

We have been learning about LGBT+ during our UNCRC Article of the week activities and we learned all about the origins of the Pride Flag and that  the  flag represents  Equality, Pride, Hope and Love.

One very confident Primary 6 shared their understanding ond knowledge of the different rainbow flags and taught us all about respecting, celebrating and supporting our differences.

We then learned all about NATO and what nations are included in this alliance.  We answered a quiz that tested our understanding of what we had been taught.

We all agreed that Mrs Ross better watch out ! There are some fabulous teachers in P5/6 !

P5/6 Cooking and Campfires

Today we used lots of new  skills to make some Scottish shortbread in class.
We then  took our learning outdoors and used the Ghillie  kettles to make hot chocolate . We sat around the fire and sang our Scottish songs and recited Scottish poetry while eating our shortbread and drinking  hot chocolate .

We rounded off our Scottish themed day with some play in the garden.

Blue skies and smiles. 😃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
