A great performance from P4/5 sharing Scottish dancing and Scottish poems. Well done!
Heritage and Eco schools p4/5
We followed the Fenwick Weavers trail to find the historical buildings and plaques around Fenwick village. We read and followed the map to increase our local and historical knowledge to deepen our understanding of the place we live in.
STEM and Eco in p4/5
George came in to help us measure and saw wood for the frame for our Eco friendly greenhouse that we are building.
Give racism the red card p4/5
We have participated in the competition ‘Show Racism the Red Card.’ The children created posters after participating in discussions about respect, fairness and equality.
Eco and outdoor learning with p4/5
With the cold weather outside we made sure the bird feeders and the hedgehog feeders were topped up. We explored all the different ice shapes we found in the garden and we learnt about hedgehogs and how we can look after them. Then we made our own hedgehogs out of clay.
P4/5 – Christmas Party
P4 and P5 had a ball at the P4-7 Christmas Party on Tuesday! We had lots of fun playing games and dancing.
p4/5 Christmas Fayre
Today we explored Christmas activities in class; practised our songs then performed at the Christmas Fayre. Primary 4/5 you were brilliant!
P4/5 – Christmas Fayre Update
Fenwick Primary School Christmas Fayre
Please see below a reminder/update regarding our Christmas Fayre which is this Friday.
We can’t wait to welcome our families along to join in the festivities.
Also, we have been very lucky to secure prizes of vouchers and gifts for our raffle at the Christmas Fayre. Tickets can be bought this Friday 6th December during the Christmas Fayre. If any local businesses or families would still like to donate prizes, these would be more than welcome (please contact the school to do so). We also have house coloured treat hampers along with a selection of other prizes that have been kindly donated by our pupils and their families that will be up for grabs!
Eco and Clean Green Award p4/5
Today we continued working to achieve our Keep Scotland Beautiful school Eco Flag and East Ayrshire Clean Green Award. We filled and put up bird feeders, planted 100 bulbs and did some litter picking. We also created a mini garden for the classroom and we launched a new energy saving initiative across classes by asking them to switch off electric powered items for 5 minutes every day.
Book Week Scotland P4/5
In class we have been reading with parent and pupil volunteers. Police Scotland came to visit and they read the story ‘My Police on Patrol’ then we went out to learn more about the police roles described in the story by exploring the police car and speaking to police officers. We met the mounted police and learnt about their job role then we investigated a crime scene set up by our visiting police officers.
Hannah Willow, an author, came to share the stories she had written. As a class and school we could relate to the content as it was linked to Climate Action and the impact we can have on the natural world and how we can appreciate it.
