P3/4 – New IDL Topic Collaborative Working
To begin our new topic, The Egyptians, every child was allocated a number and then collaborated on a shared document in TEAMS. They added what they know and want to know about the Egyptians. The table on TEAMS updated in real-time showing all the learners everyone’s ideas.
P3/4 – Visit to Fenwick Parish Church
We were invited by Rev Kim from Fenwick Parish Church to learn about Baptism. She showed us Christening gowns, certificates and the Baptismal Register.
Some pupils brought photos to share with Rev Kim and the class of their Baptisms.
P3/4 – REPOST: Update: Access Homework Via TEAMS
We have been working hard to develop our skills in using Glow in Primary 3/4.
From 28th April 2025, homework will now to accessed through TEAMS via Glow, rather than posted on the class blog. The new homework block starts on 28th April 2025.
All pupils have been practising how to independently:
- log on to Glow (using their own personal username and password and these should not be shared)
- open TEAMS
- open the Homework Channel
- access Files to open tasks relevant to themselves.
I have attached a guide to support your child in accessing their homework. Please familiarise yourself with the important notes within the guide below. The class have been made aware of them too.
If it is a written week, homework should be completed in their homework jotter and handed in on a Friday. If it is an online week, there is no expectations of any homework to be handed in.
Any issues, please speak to the class teacher.
P3/4 – Earth Day
To celebrate Earth Day, P3/4 spend some time outside. We planted sunflower seeds. We have also been learning about time so we used natural materials to make clocks!
In the afternoon, we switched off the lights and all the electronics. During this time, we discussed how the “earth is in our hands” and we have to look after it. We identified ways we can help look after and protect our planet.
P3/4 – PE Days Reminder
PE days for P3/4 are Wednesday and Friday. PE kits should be worn during PE sessions.

P3/4 – Reading for Pleasure
The sun was shining so P3/4 took themselves outside to enjoy their personal reading books in the sunshine!
P3/4 – Inheritance
As part of our IDL Topic, My Body, we have been learning about inheritance and characteristics that can be inherited.
We learnt about inherited characteristics in humans, animals and plants. Lots of great discussion took place!
MONSTER INHERITANCE CHALLENGE: To explore inherited characteristics, learners chose 2 monsters and then had to identify characteristics that could be passed onto their offspring. They then drew what the offspring could possibly look like. P3/4 excelled themselves and their monsters were ROAR-some!!
P3/4 – Sports Relief
P3/4 enjoyed learning about Scotland footballer Billy Gilmour. We learned about his life as a youngster in Ardrossan, which football clubs he has played for and watched some of his highlights. The class also had the chance to show off their own skills during a football challenge in the gym hall! Thank you to the RRS and Sports committees for organising all the fun!
