We have been learning about metalinguistics and using different reading strategies to help us work out what words mean in our story, A Christmas Tree Adventure. After we discussing and wrote what we thought the word meant, we then used a dictionary to find the definition.
In Literacy today, we were to sequence and write about the main events in the story. Then our shoulder partner had to provide feedback using the success criteria we created at the start of the lesson.
P3/4 were set the challenge of creating a solo talk on a rainforest animal of their choice and they presented them to the class. Lots of pupils used PowerPoint and many had spent lots of times making props to share with the class. What a confident and ambitious bunch!
We have been learning about the water cycle. Today we carried out at experiment to see the water cycle in action.
During ICT today, we accessed TEAMS, downloaded a document and developed our skills in editing text in Word. We had a passage about the water cycle and had to select the keywords and change the colour, size, style and/or highlight them.
P3/4 were set the challenge to design and create a mini rainforest showing what they have learnt about the layers of the rainforest from shoe boxes.
They worked collaboratively with each other plan, design and create their model. Miss Galloway and Mrs Conetta are blown away with their ideas and creativity.
Mrs Conetta and Miss Galloway have been so impressed with everyone’s writing over the past few weeks. It’s been so hard to pick our star writers as everyone’s worked so hard but here are this weeks ones. Well done everyone and keep working hard. 🤩
