We learnt about clothing the Romans would have worn and then were tasked to design our own outfit for a Roman. We have a lot of budding designers in P3/4!
Our Marvellous Multipliers have been learning about 24 hour time and created these 24 hour clocks. They drew hands on their analogue clocks and then had to write the time in 12 hour and 24 hour digital formats.
Our Super Subtractors have been learning about minutes past and minutes to and created these fantastic flip clocks to help them.
As we finish Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the class were asked to work in pairs to create a set of interview questions they would ask one of the children after leaving Willy Wonka’s factory. The learners then assumed the role of interviewee and interviewer to act out the interview. P3/4 showed their knowledge and understanding of the novel by giving detailed answers. Mrs Conetta was blown away with the questioning and answering…future TV interviewers in the making!
Each pair were responsible for assessing another pairing and provide constructive feedback using the success criteria.
P3/4 have been playing games to consolidate their vocabulary of animals in French. Lots of fun and laughter was had playing “Who am I?”
We began learning about coding today. We are using the website code.org to develop our skills. Lots of coding language was learnt today including play area, toolbox, workspace and debugging.
In the new year, P3/4 will be beginning a block of coding. To introduce them to coding, we had lots of fun completing the Hour of Code Grinch Stealing Christmas tutorial!
We used our numeracy skills to create a menu for a Christmas lunch to feed a family of 6 with a budget of £45. Lots of discussion and compromises had to be made to get in within budget!
We worked hard today to construct giant paper snowflakes to decorate the hall for the Christmas lunch and parties!
Today we worked on a different reading strategy – Find it, Prove it, Talk about it. Before we answered the questions, we highlighted the keywords and phrases in the corresponding colour to help us answer the questions in sentences.
