As part of the RRS Outright Campaign, P3/4 have been discussing the risks and obstacles children may face to access healthcare. We discussed the importance of health equity and solutions to these risks/obstacles.
P3/4 Coronation Party Planning
P3/4 have been doing money in numeracy. They were given a challenge of designing a Royal Menu and had to choose a meal for themselves and their best friend but they only had a budget of £20
P3/4 Money Topic
Primary 3/4 have been learning all about money. They used different strategies to complete tasks/games related to money.
P3/4 Coronation Celebrations
Primary 3/4 enjoyed taking part in the activities that were organised for the Kings Coronation Celebrations. They loved the Royal Garden Games and the street party. 👑
P3/4 Sustainable Chocolate Factory
Primary 3/4 had to design a new chocolate factory for Willy Wonka. They had to think about ways to make it sustainable and good for the environment. They then used pic collage to create a poster for their factory design and then shared it with the class.
P3/4 ICT: Excel
On Wednesday, we began learning about spreadsheets and in particular, how to use Excel. We learnt about cells and how they were named, we formatted text and also saved our work within our own folders.
P3/4 Interviews
As we finish Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the class were asked to work in pairs to create a set of interview questions they would ask one of the children after leaving Willy Wonka’s factory. The learners then assumed the role of interviewee and interviewer to act out the interview. P3/4 showed their knowledge and understanding of the novel by giving detailed answers. Mrs Conetta was blown away with the questioning and answering…future TV interviewers in the making!
Each pair were responsible for assessing another pairing and provide constructive feedback using the success criteria.
P3/4 Literacy
We have been learning to use apostrophes in contractions eg they will becomes they’ll.
Each pupil made folding contraction, where they could hide the 2 words and “contract” (fold) to make the contracted form.
P3/4 RRS: Dignity, Equity and Equality
The RRS Committee have been continuing their work to ensure at Fenwick Primary and ECC, we are a Rights Respecting School. At the beginning of the week, they sharing information about dignity, equity and equality. We watched a video which helped explain the difference between equity and equality. The committee set us a the challenge for this week to take photos to show how we ensure dignity, equity and equality.
P3/4 Cats Protection
P3/4 were visited by Cats Protection today. They participated in a workshop and learned all about cats and their descendants the African Wildcat.
